OUTPLACEMENT SUPPORT

Outplacement Support and

Career Counselling

A structured yet personal process enabling people to recognise and utilise their resources to make the next step.

What is Outplacement Support?

Outplacement Support is the service that businesses offer their employees who are exiting the business, designed to help the individual to make their next step in their careers. This takes the form of helping them to find work, career guidance and coaching, as well as direct job searching.

Outplacement Support is often offered to staff affected by redundancy.

Why is Outplacement Support important?

Organizations will be keen to maintain their employer brand and this increases the chances of employees parting amicably with the organization helping their external perception. Past employees will be more likely to recommend you to others and it shows that you care about your employees. During change in your business employees may be worried, particularly in periods of redundancy and studies have shown that employee engagement decreases even with small downsizing, outplacement support can prevent this as employees will be more confident that they are able to find another job even after redundancy. If employees have outplacement support after they are made redundant, they are more likely to be focussed on the next stage of their career rather than feeling the need for legal proceedings.

At DandHR, we help to educate stakeholders in the importance and benefits of Outplacement Support, as well as helping to deliver excellent programmes that offer genuine benefits and support for your exiting employees. With us at your side, we can help you to help your employees make their next step, whilst also safeguarding the company reputation and employer branding for future generations of talent.

What is Career Counselling

A staged and structured model of career coaching to enable people to recognise and utilise their resources to make career related decisions and manage career related issues.

We use a framework with five stages of career counselling:

  1. The Contracting stage clarifies expectations.
  2. The Exploring stage defines issues and understands the coachee's current scenario.
  3. The Clarifying stage starts to visualise the scenario in new ways.
  4. The Visioning stage promotes the new vision and increases motivation.
  5. The Resourcing Action stage refines a plan for success, reviews options and obstacles and identifies relevant resources.
